MiniBC provides tools that allow merchants to monitor checkout activity by IP address and take action when suspicious activity occurs.
The IP Management dashboard helps merchants:
Monitor checkout failures that may indicate credit card abuse
Allow trusted IP addresses such as office networks or call centres
Assist customers who need to retry a failed checkout
Block IP addresses that repeatedly attempt failed transactions
The dashboard is divided into two sections:
| Section | Description |
|---|---|
| IP Traffic | Displays IP addresses that have recently generated failed checkout attempts |
| Managed IPs | Displays IP addresses that have been manually whitelisted or blacklisted by the merchant |
The IP Traffic section is intended for day-to-day monitoring of checkout activity, while Managed IPs allows merchants to maintain permanent allow or block rules for specific IP addresses.
IP Traffic
The IP Traffic tab displays IP addresses that have recently generated failed checkout attempts and may require review.
A failed transaction occurs when a credit card checkout attempt does not complete successfully. This can include situations such as declined cards, expired cards, or insufficient funds.
This panel allows merchants to monitor checkout activity and determine whether an IP address should be allowed, blocked, or reset so a customer can retry their transaction.
| Column Name | Details |
|---|---|
| IP Address | The IP address associated with the failed checkout attempts |
| Last Flagged | The amount of time since the most recent failed transaction from this IP address |
| Failed Transaction Count | The number of failed checkout attempts recorded from this IP address within the last 14 days |
| Status | The current status of the IP address. This may be Flagged or Blocked |
| Actions | Available actions that can be taken on the IP address |
Data Window
IP activity is tracked using a rolling 14-day window. Failed transactions older than 14 days are automatically removed from the system and will no longer appear in this list.
Actions:
| Column Name | Details |
|---|---|
| Whitelist - Adds the IP address to the whitelist so that transactions from this IP are allowed in the future | |
| Blacklist - Blocks the IP address from placing transactions on your store | |
| Remove - Removes the IP address from the flagged list and resets its failed transaction count. This allows the customer to retry checkout | |
| View - Displays additional details and activity logs for the IP address |
Managed IPs
The Managed IPs tab displays IP addresses that have been manually added by the merchant.
This section allows merchants to maintain permanent allow or block rules for specific IP addresses without relying on automated system monitoring.
Common uses for this section include:
Whitelisting office or call centre IP addresses
Allowing a customer to retry checkout after contacting support
Blocking IP addresses that are known to be abusive
| Column Name | Details |
|---|---|
| IP Address | The IP address that has been manually added |
| Added On | The date and time that the IP address was added to the managed list |
| Status | Indicates whether the IP address is Whitelisted or Blacklisted |
| Actions | Available actions that can be taken for the IP address |
Note: IP addresses listed in this section remain active until they are manually removed by the merchant.
Actions:
| Column Name | Details |
|---|---|
| Remove - Removes the IP address from the managed list | |
| View - Displays details and activity history for the IP address |
