This guide will review the MiniBC admin interface and help you understand how to setup notifications for your subscriber base.
We recommend reviewing our context guide found here and also our template for every email can be found here.
Note: Email authentication is highly recommended to increase deliverability and if you've not been contacted about this, you should open a support ticket and/or talk to your implementation specialist for assistance.
Interface Review
To begin, login to your MiniBC admin interface and navigate via Settings, to the Notifications section.
You'll see any setup emails and have the option to create a new one by clicking on the Setup New Email button.
Upon clicking on the Setup New Email button you'll be presented with the below interface. Let's review all the options:
Email Event: This allows you to choose the type of event you'd like to create an email for. We've chosen to start with Successful Signup
Storefronts: This area allows you to choose the storefront(s) that this email should trigger against. If you're running BigCommerce MSFs you can create emails specifically branded for each storefront.
Email Trigger: Allows you to choose when an email is sent to the subscriber.
Examples:
0 | Day | After - Would send an email right after an event is trigger.
5 | Day | Before - Would send an email 5-days before an event is to trigger.
In general 0|Day|After is used for items you want to send right away - Successful Signup, Billing Error, Cancellation - and x|Day|Before are used for emails like - Scheduled Renewal and Upcoming Credit Card Expiry.
Enable this email: Allows you to choose if the email is active and should be running. Enable this item once you've completed the email.
BCC/BBC Name: If you'd like to keep track of emails sent from your store on behalf of MiniBC you can add in your email here for be BCC (blind-carbon-copied) on the email without the subscriber being aware.
Email Subject: Allows you to write your email subject line. Note that variables can be included in subject lines.
Email Body: This is the text or coding of your email context. Note there are options, such a Source for advanced users to paste is pre-complete email HTML code. If you're not familiar with how to code emails, we'd recommend using an LLM (ChatGPT or similar) and have the emails created for you and the images hosted within your BigCommerce account.
Template variables: These are the variables to personalize or add information to your notification email. Each email has different variables depending on what the context is and the information needed.
